Jacy Wall’s textile and print work is an exploration of the qualities of textiles, through surfaces, pattern, structure, seams, thread and stitch. Like in this piece, Jiggery Pokery, black and white are often a backdrop to Jacy’s palette with hints of red and yellow in wool and linen which she dyes herself.
Interventions such as stitching, patching and darning imply instability and fragility, reflecting on a long-time interest in the theme of mending.
