Janet Stahelin Edmondson: Porcelain Jugs
  • Janet Stahelin Edmondson - Porcelain Jugs

Porcelain jugs made from thinly rolled limoges of porcelain imprinted with lace with handles. Approximately 20cm high x 7cm wide

Glazed inside, unglazed outside, these vessels are watertight and designed to be used.

Janet is a ceramics artist who works with fine porcelain and vintage lace – a unique combination inspired by her Swiss grandfather. He worked in the fashion, fabric and textile industry and provided the fabric for the dresses worn by the Queen and Queen Mother at Princess Margaret’s wedding. Janet uses antique lace some of which has been handed down to her from the family silk and lace business which operated in Switzerland, Lyons and London.
