Vanja Bazdulj is a London based designer currently focused on making tableware collection in clay. The practice is largely material driven, influenced by Vanja’s backround in architecture, constant research and exploration into form and objects, but most importantly hands on material experiments.
There is a sense of simplicity to all her pieces, which drives the aesthetics and a keen interest in making. Simple forms are highlighted with exposing raw materials, their irregularities and patinas, providing amazing textures, a transparency of working process and an honesty to the finished pieces.
After finishing the faculty of architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia and working for 2 years as an architect, Vanja decided to do an MA in Furniture Design at The Cass in London and begin her own practice.
Vanja has been designer in residence at The Cass and currently works there as a Project Assistant in the School of Design.
Besides working on private commissions Vanja has worked on commissions from companies such as Anthropologie, smaller independent shops and galleries and has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and design fairs across Europe.
