SHY Design Studio is a Glasgow based practice, founded by Peter Bingham, frequently working alongside his long term creative partner Sofia Olander. The studio works from both a design and artistic perspective, using a narrative driven process to explore their own interpretations of traditional archetypes.
Skilled in working across a range of materials they consider noble, natural, and sustainable whilst exploring production skills both time honoured and modern. Material and process are intrinsic to the stories they tell, these narratives are often rooted in design and craft-based histories, resultantly there is a history of furniture, craft and material laced throughout their pieces.
SHY have exhibited widely in Europe including at Collect, Future Heritage, Dutch Design Week and Salone del Mobile.

20 Years of Cavaliero Finn
Stockwell Studio, 1 Lorn Court, London, SW9 0AB 11 - 18 May 2024Cavaliero Finn returns to its South London roots to celebrate its 20th birthday at Stockwell Studio with an exhibition featuring over 60 artists. The exhibition will feature work from a wide range of artists who have shown with the gallery over the last 20 years and include an installation by textile artist Isabelle Fletcher and new work by Lise Herud Braten, the most recent additions to the Cavaliero Finn portfolio. Starting on the 11th of May and finishing on May 18th, 20 years of Cavaliero Finn is part of both the Dulwich Festival 2024, (which was the original launch platform for Cavaliero Finn back in 2004) and London Craft Week 2024.Read more -
