Krzysztof Strzelecki

Krzysztof Strzelecki (b. 1993, Poland) is a London-based artist working primarily in ceramics. He has presented solo exhibitions at Anat Ebgi in Los Angeles and New York, and at Taymour Grahne Projects, London. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the British Ceramics Biennial, and is held in the collections of the RISD Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art.  

Strzelecki’s practice explores queer intimacy and the spatial conditions in which desire unfolds, using ceramic sculpture to rethink architecture, the body, and public space. Drawing on Christian iconography and ancient mythology, his work considers the relationship between the contemporary body and its historical representations, often positioning the figure between vulnerability and idealisation.

Engaging deeply with queer culture, he examines how different societies negotiate LGBTQ+ visibility, acceptance, and prejudice. Referencing cruising culture, personal memory, and urban environments, he reimagines functional and architectural forms such as vases, urinals, and fountains as sculptural sites of erotic tension, coded language, and collective experience.

Krzysztof's Cruising Fantasties series inspired by the Greek Gods where figures gather to feast and entertain the divine through ritual and celebration. The vessel evokes a world where desire, abundance and sensuality are embraced as pathways to the divine. The unglazed surface recalls the appearance of Ancient Greek ceramics while the imagery brings themes of desire, pleasure and companionship into dialogue with classical mythology.
