A sense of the horizon was something Mia Cavaliero yearned for during the time of the pandemic travel restrictions. Despite living in the city, she took comfort from the fact that nature continued its cycles, and she became highly aware of the amazing moons that she saw during that time. She was painting imaginary horizons and one of these, Moon, was inspired by the idea of standing on the moon’s surface and watching the horizon. The Night and Moonshine is a nocturne, a homage to the otherworldly quality of moonlight.
