The ever-changing Suffolk landscape dominates painter DJ Lowrie’s work and this is particularly true of the work Pink Field III which is a beautiful landscape painting.
The work is less about identifiable and literal representation but more an instinctive and spiritual response to the essential essence of the atmospheric subject.
The artist starts initially with drawing. It underpins everything she does and is a legacy from her Byam Shaw tutors Oliver Bevan and Nathan Cohen. Through these drawings, she explores the relationship of the land and sea to the dramatic coastal skies above her.
Since graduating as a mature student in 1993 DJ Lowrie has exhibited in galleries in Surrey and Hampshire and more latterly in West and East Suffolk.
