Cessation is a work which seeks to express the process of ending or pausing through the absence of colour. It is a continuation of Caron's tapestry ‘The Red Line’ which was recently purchased by the Rumi Foundation in support of artists who create work of important social significance and social understanding. The work addresses fluctuations in time, space and motion and achieve this by using variations in light and dark threads, woven in bands, observing vibrating changes in mood. Cessation focuses on repetition and offers a space for mediation, time and repair. Caron creates her textiles from the ancient technique of Gobelin hand weaving, all her colours are hand dyed.
