Faced with the prospect of an Easter Weekend like no other, Cavaliero Finn shares painter Catherine Knight’s latest project, “Isolation Windows”, an artist’s response to living life in quarantine.
All the lives we ever lived, oil on board, 24 x 18 cm, 2019
Following on from a project Catherine was involved in as part of the Bristol/Hannover Artist Exchange in 2018 and 2019, the artist is calling for us all to seek out the everyday beauty that surrounds us, capture it on camera and share it with her. It could be a glorious sunrise gently emerging over the rooftops, the birds at daybreak outside your window, long shadows captured at the end of the day, the burgeoning blossoms of springtime trees; the possibilities are endless and the results designed to reaffirm our connection to the outside world during these troublesome times.
As part of this latest initiative, Catherine will use a selection of these images to feed into her drawings and paintings over the coming months.

About Catherine Knight
Cavaliero Finn first fell in love with Catherine Knight’s paintings at the Private View of the Discerning Eye prize exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London in 2014.
Having completed residencies and periods of time in places such as Iceland, Finland, Scotland and Cornwall, Catherine’s colourful paintings literally sing with life, exploring how our environment and feelings are ruled by the ever-changing light. She paints vast isolated landscapes often featuring small dwellings, each and every one conveying man’s tiny imprint on nature’s vast and majestic canvas. -
