Dusk can be an alluring subject for a painter; an intoxicating time between day and night, as objects gradually lose their definition and colours take on a strange intensity. Kate tends to focus on everyday subjects, fleeting snapshots which in the twilight can become unsettling, or suggest tenderness, but always poetic.
