Biography

Dalia James is a London based woven textile designer and hand-weaver.  Dalia often references early twentieth century design, artistic movements and philosophies in her work, and uses simple geometric forms to explore how colours interact with each other – resulting in bold, playful contemporary designs and artworks.

Dalia graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Woven Textiles in 2012.

In 2019 Dalia was selected for the Crafts Council's emerging makers programme 'Hothouse' and showcased her work at 'New Designers: One Year In' in June of that year.

With the renewed interest in craft, and weaving in particular, Dalia's practice has been featured in ES Homes & Property (June, 2019), Homes & Gardens magazine (Oct, 2020) and House & Garden magazine (June, 2021).

In 2021 Dalia was awarded an Arts Council of England 'Developing Your Creative Practice' grant to further develop her practice.

Cavaliero Finn will be debuting a new collection of Dalia's work at Artefact 2022.
